Abbie ‘Gael’ Tirona, uses art as a means to express her complex, inner emotions to the world. Through saturated colors and striking subjects she aims to evoke feelings not previously known to her viewers. Though Abbie’s work tends to lean on the darker, more uncomfortable side of surrealism, often including distorted faces and extreme perspectives, there is always a sense of familiarity within that brings solace to her. While oil painting is where Gael feels most at home in the 2D realm, she has recently found a love for sculptural art, which allows her to explore new possibilities in three dimensions. In 2025, Abbie’s work was exhibited at the University of Mary Washington, as well as in her hometown of Purcellville, Virginia. Currently, Gael is focusing on sculpture and has a few anticipated projects in the works.
